Where they love the governor
If I remember correctly, last year's disaster was due to them using some new company to handle all their streams that was not at all prepared for the volume of a football game.

And the year before that, it was the old company that couldn't handle the streams...and the year before that....and the year before that............

Cyclones.tv and pray that it actually works.

Last year the issue was that they had it set so you had to log in every single time you opened up a browser window/app/roku/whatever and their login server crashed. I wonder what the issue will be this year.

I am sure this is answered somewhere but I can't find the answer. I have mediacom and cyclone tv through mediacom. The game will be live there correct?

I'm sure there will be illicit streams available out there, depending on how well-versed you are in that area.

I don't really watch basketball.

Does Cyclones.TV do a nice job with hoops? Because football has been a train wreck

I've had it go fine for bball but it's far less traffic since it's typically early season non conference games.

Yeah, it's never an issue for bball games. I'd guess all the bball game viewership combined is less than the single football game though...

To ISU's credit, they did refund everyone the cost of a 24hr subscription and made the game available to stream online for free after the 2nd quarter.

Yes, I remember that. It was a good move by AD. I'll probably get the 24hr subscription to watch, but even if it runs smoothly this year, I'll expect a refund if Iowa St loses.

Cyclones.TV is selling a 5-day Labor Day weekend pass. If anyone is planning to get it I would suggest buying on Thursday or Friday so you can get it set up and test it. Granted, there still might be issues on game day, but at least that gives you more time to resolve account or login issues if necessary.
Also, it seems that people using a Roku had fewer issues than others (anecdotally, anyway). Something to think about if you're making plans.

I don't recall having any problems for basketball games.

I don't recall it ever working for an entire football game.
