Is ISU looking at any guys in the Portal?

Just wondering if ISU is even looking at any of these guys. Do the coaches have a relationship with any of them?

I realize that the team is pretty well set with all the guys that are coming back, but a former 5 star OL, DL, Safety, or WR might come in handy.

I would assume they are but with so many returning starters it is going to be hard to land some of the top players when there aren't too many starting jobs open right now. Safety and WR probably are spots a guy could come in and compete for a spot right away but nearly everywhere else would have to beat out an incumbent starter. Depth never is a bad thing but most guys in the portal probably are looking for more playing time and a shot at starting and not a backup role.

Those aren't the guys we'd be looking at. We're looking for a star that wants to compete at the highest level. An ACC guy not from Clemson or SEC not from Alabama, TAM, Georgia or Florida or a non P5 guy that wants a shot at the CFP. Not saying we get there but right now Iowa St looks really good compared to a bunch of places.

Iowa State has shown interest in the RB from Colorado, and a 6'8 WR from FCS School. Can't find who tho.

No way of knowing for sure obviously, but I read over on the other thread the 247 Sports guy talked with Eli and after talking with him he added a crystal ball to Iowa State. Seems like a good sign.

If we are I hope its a stud offensive/defensive lineman, a stud CB, or a playmaker wide receiver. DT is probably number one on my wish list right now.

All signs point to ISU. I think if you are Iowa State you add all the talented players you can to put you over the top of that is a Transfer and a fast as **** freshman you do it.

This is the 6'8 WR I referred to earlier. Iowa State has shown interest but it sounds like South Carolina may get him and his QB who is also a transfer.
