His arm is legit. He’ll throw open more guys with his strength vs under throwing (particularly deep). If we can snag any deep threat in the portal, the offense would get a boost.

Honestly, with QB play, I wonder if we have to start looking at who is coaching the QBs and who is running the offense. I think that INT was nerves, throw the guy in against OU in a crucial situation, it's a tough spot. Tougher when you have one of the best Running backs in the country, but your first series in the game, while the line is getting blown up, our OC calls ******* pass plays. Yeah, OU probably wasn't expecting it, but they had no problem getting pressure on any play we ran before that.

It's like taking a rookie fireman and dousing him in gasoline, then saying, "Here's a cup of water, go put out that fire." It's not like Purdy hasn't made that same mistake over and over. Does anyone on the staff sit down with them and say, "Quit ******* doing that."?

Manning is a ******* moron and should be fired for that first series with Hunter alone, let alone all the other **** the guy has ****** up.
Then he scored on his second drive and gets the bench.

That INT was a big disappointment. He was frustrated with Kolar's route. To make him look bad he throws down field in play where there was no chance of a reception.

Chase Allan made him look good with his YAC TD.

I am not sold on him.

Who else did you have in mind? He gets all the backup's reps so the staff clearly prefers him over any other qb on the roster.

If Dekkers can get his own Kolar and Hutchinson. He's going to lead us to more conference championships.

I thought I heard Kolar has a drop rate of less than 1% despite being Putdy's #1 target. Helps your completion percentage when you get a weapon like that.

How many 50/50 balls did Brock throw to Butler as a freshman? Dekkers will not be perfect. But his ability to get a football to a receiver one or two steps before Brock could be a huge boost to the passing game

Take the ball to Hutch in the Iowa game. I bet Dekkers doesn't throw a dead duck that gets picked.

What Purdy did was win at home. A LOT! He's got like 2 losses ever in JTS. Dekkers has huge shoes to fill there

I dont know why some are so sold on this Rocco kid. I've watched some of his film and I don't see how he is better than dekkers. Dekkers will be in his 3rd year of this program next year, and he has 4 Td drives in his limited action.

Agreed. Not to mention, Bouman. Just because nobody is discussing him on here doesn’t mean he isn’t or won’t be good, push Dekkers or hold down the back up position for the foreseeable future.

Why no discussion of Bouman anyway? He was a solid recruiting victory over the midwest Big 10 schools when he committed to ISU.

That drive took multiple 4th down situations, a fake punt, and miracle catch by Breece… he will be fine and his play was quite admirable given the situation but that wasn’t exactly a world beater to keep your starter on the bench IMO.

Why would anyone disagree with this statement?

The 4th down pass was all Breece

Dekkers is going to be fine. He will be the starter after this season. But his scoring drive involved a fake punt, and a great player making an unbelievable play on a poor throw.

A lot of definitive analysis in here on a player that's seen mop up duty in like 4 games. Not to mention we have seen him so much some in here have a feel for his mindset when he's throwing an interception against OU.

Are people just like, not aware of Dekkers pedigree? Feels like we are talking about zen Nolan’s in this thread lol
