Steely Dan has some songs where the hook/beat have been covered by A LOT of rappers. It's back now, but IMO it's leaning more into soft rock than Yacht Rock this iteration. Give me some more Steely Dan, LRB, George Benson.
Like an insane amount.

Is that your song for Marj? Kidding aside, David Gates was quite the singer and songwriter (now retired).

What songs by Steely Dan?
Many of their songs have some rather "interesting" lyrics, such as "Dirty Work." Catchy sound, yes, but often with soul-crushing messages. I learned to enjoy their music more by thinking about the vocals as instruments more than singing lyrics.

Nearly every song by Steely Dan, if you're me. Donald Fagan is definitely a master of sarcastic lyrical themes. But I am a big sarcasman.
A few of my favorite more obscure SD songs kind of by album:
- Gaucho
- Time Out of Mind
- Night by Night
- The Caves of Altamira
- The Royal Scam
- Razor Boy
- The Boston Rag
- Daddy Don't Live In That New York City No More
- Cousin Dupree
I could go on...
I think the band qualifies as yacht rock well enough, but is absolutely not confined to yacht rock.I'm fairly new to the concept of the yacht rock genre and definitely not comfortable putting Steely Dan in the same category as Hall & Oates. I should have knew it was coming when I started hearing Steely Dan and Donald Fagen songs at grocery stores.
