I haven't read through the attached links, but first you have to view hidden files and folders (it's in Tools - Options - View tab). There's usually then an iPod Control folder (I think that's the name of it) in there - browse to it from "Add Songs to My Library" in iTunes. The songs are usually divided amongst a ton of individual folders. What kind of sucks is that, if you have songs that have been converted to the .m4p standard format of iTunes OR if you bought them off of iTunes, the file names are really non-descript. You kind of just have to grab all of them and add them to your library.
