Thinking of getting an iPhone. Is At & t signal good in central Iowa? Is the iPhone all it's cracked up to be?

I Phone is fun. I like my Instinct (not an Apple fan).
ATT is terrible in Iowa. Be sure you're near a major interstate. At least that's what I noticed last time I was in Iowa with friends. Stop at several smaller towns and had no signal at all. But my Sprint phone was working ok.

This is one of the major reasons I won't be getting an iPhone anytime soon--weak signal where I live. That and the price--as cool as it is, I just don't need to spend that much for a phone.

I live in Johnston, suburb of Des Moines, I have not had any signal issues yet. I recently dropped verizon for AT&T and the IPhone. I absolutely love it.

I just took a trip to the Rockies to go snowboarding. We took the amtrack and stayed at the base of the mountain. Never had any signal issues through the entire trip. The best thing, I got back Monday and saw that the 3G network was active in Des Moines.

yes, the signal is not as good as vz in central Iowa. But I don't think it's horrible either.

I have th iPhone and have very few problems with the signal strength. I've taken it up to Algona, which is in the middle of nowhere, and I had no problems to speak of.
