On the bright side, Mario Cristobal isn’t known for being the smartest coach. And we beat his Oregon team full of athletes a few years ago.

How much better would ISU be if we had a stud RB, Breece like. I like our RB's, they're solid, but they don't strike fear in anyone and have little home run threat. Puts a lot of pressure on Rocco and ISU's receivers.
Sama is a home run threat if he can ever get past the first level.

Miami is overrated and I question how much heart they're going to put into the game. I think we get an 11th win. Ward in particular, c'mon, he ain't going 100%, anyone that thinks so is delusional. I'm shocked they could even convince him to suit up. He's a top 10 pick in the NFL draft, why the hell would he play in a meaningless bowl game against Iowa State? I don't get it.

I’d rather face him than not.

To show scouts he should be the #1 pick? On paper ISU has a great pass defense, #3 in the country, so shredding our D would help his draft stock. Just a guess. I think he's gonna be a top 3 pick anyways so it shouldn't matter.

Rocco isn't going to grow. And feel his using different arm angles is a plus.

Feel it comes down to the OL doing a better job of moving guys out of passing lanes and keeping engaged with DL. Also could see Mouser move pocket a bit, but didn't feel we had much success when doing that this year.
Not staring down receivers. Looking off at different receivers. Working on his footwork. Not fall in love with his side arm throws.(Okay in some instances).
Those are "Rocco" things he can work on and control.

Yeah, think what he could do if he just had running lanes, instead of defenders jamming up the hole and he tries to bounce it outside for a two-yard loss.

I’m actually serious … have a line/blocking schemes that give Sama a clear path, and he’ll tear you up, man.

Any RB will tear it up if they have huge holes to run through. And our OL is not bad at run blocking. We’ve had so many that were much worse. Sama needs to improve. He simply wasnt that good this year.

Guys like Monty and Breece made huge plays without huge holes to run through, that’s why they are NFL stars.

Agree with last sentence. Almost every mock draft has him only behind Sanders and in the top three picks of the draft. This game isn’t going to change an already great draft spot for Ward.

The line has blocked more than ok for runs. Look at Hansen. (Also remember how many shoe string tackles have kept Hansen from breaking the big one)

To my eyes it’s vision and trust. Hansen seees where he’s supposed to go hits the “crease/hole” on time and routinely gets 4-6 yds.

Sama previously didn’t see the crease and would try to trust his feet and speed and break it outside. As I watch he still isn’t seeing it but hes running where his assignment tells him to.

If his vision catches up with his feet or his feet slow down to alllow his vision and he retains his burst, he could still have a really good yr or two.

Not sure if that IF can happen for a guy at this stage. Monty and Breece both had incredible vision to match their other physical skills.

He's probably getting a bonus just to play the first series. After that I'd suspect a healthy insurance policy should he suffer some type of injury. They're probably thinking they can get up on Iowa State 35-0 by halftime and he can take the rest of the day off.

I’ll also say, if he’s waiting to see 4 yd wide daylight “holes” he prob won’t.
