Hurricanes star Cam Ward surprisingly says he will play in Pop-Tarts Bowl
Hurricanes star quarterback Cam Ward indicated he will play in Miami’s appearance in the Pop-Tarts Bowl in a video posted to social media.www.orlandosentinel.com
I was super envious watching K State enjoy this meme bowl last year and I'm thrilled to be in it this year. Not to rain on any parades, and i'm sure plenty of posters have voiced this, but how are any of you getting excited about this game? I love Iowa State. I love college football. I'll watch and cheer hard for the Cyclones. But these games have never been less interesting or valued. No way I would make the trip to Orlando. Might as well save that cash for March trips that mean something.
1) if all you care about is a postseason slot in the playoffs, then ISU might not make much of a splash
2) you sound like a Chiefs guy to me

In my opinion, this is one of only 2 non-CFP bowls that I'd still be excited about. The other being the Duke's Mayo Bowl.
I absolutely love the bowl games that are embracing the fun, wild, and quirkiness that makes college athletics so much more fun than the pros.
There is zero prestige/respect left for any bowl outside of the playoff, so we might as well all try to have some fun. I was absolutely hoping we'd get this bid instead of the Alamo.
Going to record it. Don't have stomach to watch it live. Thanks for ruining my MondayHe is playing
pop tart hotelAny idea what hotel the team is at?

I like the matchup, but What's the deal with us playing "nearly" (or actual) home games for the other team in bowl games?
Playing Memphis in Memphis (twice)
Playing Boise in Boise
Playing Rutgers in Yankee Stadium (1-2 hours away)
Playing Tulsa in Memphis (~5 hours away)
Playing Alabama in Shreveport (this is more of a stretch, ~ 6 hours away)
Playing Miami in Orlando (~ 4 hours away)
Any others?
(oh, and I believe 5 of those 6 were losses)
Don't watch. You already said it's just a scrimmage. Don't watch.I'm very concerned that we won't even be trying. It'll be about fundamentals and working towards next year.

Arguably, you shouldn’t do that anyways in this era.Spring games are scrimmages - I'd watch that. Why wouldn't I watch a scrimmage?
What I won't do is what I did for the championship game in Dallas. I won't spend ~$800 on a good seat, hotel, flight to cheer them on in person. I'm not disparaging those who do choose to do that.
Not sure exactly how this Bowl determines it. IF they rotate year to year who is the home team, last year the Big 12 (K-State) was the home team and the ACC (NC State) was the road team. Are we the home team or the away team for this?
I would like to add the Alamo Bowl to that list. I'd never been to San Antonio until earlier in November for an unrelated football trip. The river walk was beautiful and Id enjoy seeing it filled with Cardinal and Gold.I was super envious watching K State enjoy this meme bowl last year and I'm thrilled to be in it this year.
