The similarities leading up to this game is awfully similar to 2005. Only difference is the game is in I.C.

I can only hope the result will be similar as well...

Now if the question was..... Would this be the year that ISU scores a TD against Iowa? Then I think I will say yes.

When was our last offensive TD against Iowa?

I thought Iowa looked very good TBH. I was happy with our play on Thursday as well.

Late score allows Iowa to win by 14-17pts. Something like 31-16 or so.

There are actually very few similarities between 2005 and 2010.

The first, and probably largest, difference is the fact that in 2005 Iowa was starting two FRESHMEN on the defensive line, and was replacing 3 of the 4 starters from the previous year. As I'm sure you know, this years Iowa DL will be a little bit better than the one in 2005.

In 2005 ISU moved the ball with relative ease due to an Iowa defense that was rather inexperienced overall, with the exception of Greenway/Hodge......this year, Iowa brings one of the best defenses in the country into this game. In 05, ISU scored 23 points....I don't see that happening this season.

If ISU scores 20+ against Iowa on Saturday, I'll readily admit they'll have a good chance of winning....but that would mean ISU would likely score 3 TD's in one game....when the reality is ISU hasn't even scored one TD against this defense in 14 quarters of football.

we will have to play a near flawless game. Iowas d-line is unreal. They will come after AA and ARob. I was very impressed w/ their running game today. Stanzi will be an upgrade to the NIU QB. Plus, Iowa was w/out Hampton (rb) and Binns dline. We could be in for a long day if we make mistakes.

I seriously dont Iowa looked that good, you guys all seem like half empty type people. I mean yeah Iowa is better than us, but still I think we have a very good chance.

EIU was horrible and Iowa still was doing mediocre.

EIU looked absolutely terrible, but Iowa completely dominated every facet of the game. I think we can keep it close, but we are definite underdogs.

Way up there
If AA can avoid mistakes we can hang with the Hawks. I'd like to see a heavy dose of AA and Arob in the running game. We didn't make them respect that last year until it didn't matter.

First Post,

Ok, I was trying to google win / lost stats for this series. This would be final scores not just W's and L's.

Anyone know where I can find this information?

Iowa was playing flawlessly until Stanzi went down. After that it seemed like everything was a struggle.

Iowa also had a couple of bad fumbles and Stanzi missed a wide open McNutt streaking down the field.

Definitely looked like the first game of the season.

If Iowa cleans up a few things, they should have do problem with ISU.

Don't forget that Hampton, Binns, Gettis and Prater will all be back as well.

I dont think its as open and shut as that. If Iowa State cleans up a few things I see no reason for them not to win.

I'm thinking Iowa State has a decent chance of winning the game next week. I watched both Iowa States and Iowas games and thought that they will be pretty well matched. And after watching Iowa, I dont think they lived up to what I was expecting. EIU seemed like they were a really horrible team, and Iowa should have put up more points. What do you guys think about next weeks game?

I am thinking you have lost touch with reality. I got some tickets to this game the other day, and I am not feeling good about it at all. I foresee another blowout loss like last year.
