Wait, these things are regulated?Don’t they typically limit these tournaments to one team per conference?

i heard rumor we're trying to go there in 2026 but with these NIL tournaments popping up, guessing that ISU Ath Dept may not want to write any more 6 figure checks for these MTEs when there are organizers out there willing to foot the bill + add to our NIL coffersI understand the landscape is changing and you’ve got not no choice but to take these opportunities if you’re Iowa State (or anyone else for that matter).
But also sad to think these tournaments like Maui may go away as a result. Had such a great time there this year and in 2018.
Sounds like we backed out of Atlantis in 2025 (another really fun one for fans).
found it interesting the Atlantis resort hosted some one off games this yearB4A pays teams to participate but its not in NIL dollars.
It'd be sad to see that one go. I've never had more fun at an MTE than that one.
Atlantis was great . Not the caliber of teams that Maui has and not the same overall atmosphere but was extremely convenient being able to set up shop at Atlantis and not have to leave for the games.B4A pays teams to participate but its not in NIL dollars.

2018 i made mistake of staying further up the coast and had to drive to Lahina Civic CenterAtlantis was great . Not the caliber of teams that Maui has and not the same overall atmosphere but was extremely convenient being able to set up shop at Atlantis and not have to leave for the games.
It's crazy how NIL is impacting women's and men's hoops so differently. In the men's game it has created a lot more parity but in the women's game the parity gap is just going to get wider.
We drove to LCC this year.2018 i made mistake of staying further up the coast and had to drive to Lahina Civic Center
last month we stayed Marriott and was nice being able to walk to gym for games
have heard Atlantis is awesome for reasons you mentioned with everyone staying at one resort, albeit a massive one
if i decide to go to Vegas in 2025 idk if ill stay at MGM where games are played, but will stay at a resort close enough by (Cosmo, Aria, etc)
We are traveling with young kids (don’t really feel right dumping them off at Thanksgiving!) so not sure where we’ll stay in Vegas. Surely not as family friendly as Bahamas or Maui, definitely not as Orlando and probably not even NYC.2018 i made mistake of staying further up the coast and had to drive to Lahina Civic Center

Nope. The $22m is what schools are allowed to pay out of their budget. NIL will continue to be a private entity separate from the schools. So, do these NIL funds count towards the school limit of $22m? I thought I saw somewhere that included all sources starting next year.
Curious if the $22 million from schools will just push salaries up more? Since now the big schools will mad out the $22 mil for the base salary then supplement with nil.Nope. But with all of this it would seem we are at a disadvantage but it seems like we've been doing even better in this new nil era. It's more the transfer portal than the nil that helps us. That's how our culture helps the most.
using CBS sports preseason there will be 11 ranked teams in this event
