I predict a lot of people will go into the game saying they will stay calm (including me). Then, when we are reminded that WVU fouls 3 times every possession without a call we will get very mad. I think we will handle their press okay, but they will get 20 points off of offensive rebounds because the refs don't call any of the displacement fouls.

Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face.

Sounds like Ahmad will go, which will make Huggins happy. I saw a quote from him when asked about the need to get Ahmad back. He said he needed Ahmad on the glass because "Dax [Miles] thinks he's going to catch some type of disease inside the three point line."

Clones play loose and win 76-73

Surprised more people aren't talking about Ahmad being back. He hasn't played in 3 games, and WVU has pretty much sucked the last 3 games.

He's their best passer, best rebounder, and good scorer. They are clearly a different team with Ahmad, which makes our game tonight that much tougher.

I have a hard time seeing ISU win this game a second WVU will hack all game and Huggins will piss and moan whenever ISU gets away with the slightest contact.

WVU 76
ISU 70

Ha, I can't even relax when I'm not able to due to games on ESPNU, etc.

The Tech game was a lot of 'WTF is going on?!' and pacing.

I'm going to do my best to be lassai-faire about it since it's not all that crucial but will likely fail and have two beers during the last two minutes (if it's close) like usual.

Maybe 3 because it's WV with the grabbing and the pushing.

Remember, this is WVU. The last 2 minutes usually lasts 30 minutes. Better make that 4 beers.

I would like to see us keep the momentum, but it will not make much difference what our seed is in the Big 12 tournament, any game we play will be tough. That is what makes KC so much fun!

Ha, I said that in another thread.

The 2 beers are actually 4 total cans in the big mug.

The end of the OSU game reminded me of my undocumented beer bong championship days.

Yeah they will all be tough - but you would rather be on the opposite bracket as KU so they sell all their opposite session tickets to ISU fans making it that much more of a home court adv for us. Really need the win tonight or the BU loss tomorrow.

I suppose the Big 12 has assigned the officials that Huggy has the most control over

I posted this in the game day thread, but here's ESPN's take. I agree that better teams have walked out of there with a win. It all comes down to how we handle their physicality. I'll be safe and go with coolerifyoudid. I'm not saying my fridge will be defeated but it's in for a helluva battle. Cheers, and GO STATE!!

No. 24 Iowa State at No. 10 West Virginia, 7 p.m. ET Friday, ESPN2: You looking for a scary roster that could shake up the bracket, a squad boasting a résumé to prove as much? How about an Iowa State team that has won six in a row and recorded a road win over Kansas? The Cyclones lead the Big 12 in turnover rate, while West Virginia forces more turnovers (24.8 percent defensive turnover rate, per KenPom.com) than any other team in league play. But Iowa State has committed just 8.6 turnovers per game during this winning streak. The Cyclones lead the league in 3-point shooting, and they’re traveling to Morgantown, where lesser foes have left with victories this season.

Prediction: Iowa State 80, West Virginia 76

If ISU can score 80 points I'll go on a limb and predict a close win.

I'll bring some positivity to this thread as about 85% seem to think we'll lose. I don't fault that line of thinking.

But we played awful our first game. Awful. And some of that is them but alot of it was us. We are hitting from three far better than then, they banked in four threes, we had turnovers that I think we will see decline, and we have Young.

We won at Phog and we'll win in Morgantown and I actually think we do so with a statement.

Iowa State 79
WVU 71
