Barta is so stupid its comical. I don't know how the UI athletics department can step on their own dicks at every turn.
They honestly live in a total fantasy world and play by their own rules.

It's been radio silence for months out of my hok buddies. If you've heard a good line lately, please let us know.

The new contract is hilarious. Its essentially just a $50,000 pay cut. It provides performance objectives, with no real consequences for failing to achieve those objectives.
If he meets the objectives, he gets bonuses that sound as though his compensation would exceed last year's total amount. So, perhaps a raise in a round about way.

Never heard of a termination clause in a contract if an objective isn't met. Should be fun to watch the sideline if it's close toward the end of the year.

It specifically has language that the contract terminates June 30, 2024 if the objectives are not met.

And you think Barta would have the balls to do that? LOL. I got some ocean front property in Arizona to sell you.

With Iowa’s defense responsible for half the team’s points, that means Brian only needs to get to 12.5 to meet his goal. Not too big of a hurdle.

I can't wait for Brian's contract to come down to the last game, last drive. Will be interesting to see how Kirk's aggressiveness changes to keep Brian employed.

Surprisingly, the defense only scored 46 points last year. 3.5 per game. But they did give the offense the ball in opponents' territory at an absurd rate for the amount of points they were able to score for it.

If the Brian’s contract comes down to the last game, Kirk refuses to punt.

Hope it plays out like this:
@ Nebraska, Iowa needs 30 points to average 25 for the year. Iowa trails 28-26 on the final drive of the game, in field goal range. Does Kirk take the guaranteed win or try to save Brian and go for the TD?
