I don't know if the system ranks a loss any higher than a win insofar as strength of schedule, and if it doesn't, a loss by KSU takes them down in an equal amount to what a win by ISU would bring them up.
I'll play your silly game... So to say if Iowa State defeats Kansas State and gives Oklahoma State just a bit more of an edge on their 'bad loss' to have at least one more computer ranking give them the #2 spot they would have a computer average of 0.96 while Alabama drops to 0.92. Assuming Harris & Coaches remain the same:
I don't think it would have hurt. Most of the people seem to be talking about how ISU was a bad loss sitting at 6-6. Had we beat KSU and went to 7-5, some of the voters may have had a little more respect for us. Who knows though.
Personally I think that even if we beat KSU, Oklahoma State is screwed. Even with KSU barely beating us, they got screwed by the BCS. I just can't believe how they can justify putting Michigan and others in the BCS games without putting KSU in the BCS.
Sometimes life sucks ***!!
