If anyone at Iowa still doesn't think that the Iowa-ISU game isn't important...

Here's a hint for some of you:

Inferiority Complex -does NOT equal- Wanting Iowa to lose every game they play

I don't know when these 2 things got mixed up but just because I want Iowa to lose every game they ever play in every sport doesn't mean I have an inferiority complex. As for the obsession comments, I believe that most "diehards" on both sides of the rivalry are obsessed with the other, that's just the nature of a rivalry like this.

I am a diehard Clone fan. I do not obsess about Iowa. Does that make less of a fan, or an "un-fan", as herbie says? Iowa losing does not take away the sting of an ISU loss for me. I understand that this is a rivalry. I understand that you're supposed to talk smack in a rivalry. That's fine.

I just don't understand why, when I log on to CF instead of doing work :wideeyed:, that I have a good chance of seeing more threads on the home page laughing at Iowa's misfortunes than I do about ISU. Some people do have an obsession and it only strengthens Hawkfan's perceptions about us. Don't give him the luxury. Let him get flustered when he can't get a rise out of us.

Why is everyone talking Clones vs Hawks bball? The best team in bblall is again in Cedar Falls - UNI Panthers are 4-0 and ranked #21 in Sagarin. They could beat the other three major schools. Who would have thunk? They may sweep the Iowa table in bball and be national champs in football by New Years Day.

Time for a change.

Seriously, there are usually more threads about Snow blowers, TVs, topless women in Sweeden, and the NFL than there are about ISU on the front page. Just bookmark your favorite ISU forum and start off there. I don't think I had ever been to the front page until this thread.

How long have you been an ISU fan? Have you been a member of the internet police longer?

Those of us who've been fans for longer than 15 minutes really don't care what you think. You obviously have not endured the hawkcrap the rest of us have put up with, so, until you've walked in our moccasins, please feel free to be quiet.

I think ISU fans who are obsessed with ISU fans who enjoy hawkfan pain are just closet hawklovers. I think people who "cheer for both teams except for when they're playing each other" are phoney bandwagon "un-fans" who are now butt-hurt because "real" ISU fans are now rolling in their hawkmisery.

Well, this post took an unexpected turn. I realize maybe I was a little harsh in my last reply. Soooo, I will try to amend it a bit.

Many have flamed me and I must have set a CF record for quickest loss of rep. Great, now Thanksgiving is ruined!

I am sorry if I do not obsess about the Hawks like some. I really DO NOT care if they lose. Sorry, I just don't. I want to beat them, of course. But I really want to beat Nebraska, and I want to pummel KU, and smoke Mizzou, etc.

Sure, its tough in our state to do. We always have to put up with obnoxious Hawk fans, who live in a fantasy land. But I think you will find that elsewhere. One Husker fan I know thought they could go undefeated this year. When was their last title, like 1995?

But when I read post like Herbie the Lovebugs, I laugh. "You obviously have not endured the Hawk crap we have. Until you walk in our moccasins...." Are you saying we as ISU fans are oppressed like the Native Americans? The nasty Hawk fans took away our land? They made fun of us because they beat us? Oh, the humanity!!!! Seriously dude, its college athletics.

So to save you a quick reply, I love ISU. Graduated from there, met my wife there, and have been a proud season ticket holder since 1992. If you want to disagree with me thats fine, just don't doubt my loyalty.
