Wow - no jail and just pay for what you stole

That'll teach him. :skeptical:

Where the hell is Judge Wapner when you need him?

The (alledged) sexual assult assailants will probably only have to write "no means no" 500 times on the Johnson county courthouse blackboard, as well....

It would be good to compare this to rulings on similar cases to see of the punishment fits the crime.

The funny thing is that this decision is coming down AFTER Douglas got nailed for shoplifting CD's. That's a little surprising.

Or maybe he's going to get a little harsher treatment in that case - mowing public lawns or something.....

Perhaps this development explains where Kirk has been....

And that would be the kicker.

KF booted the public pee-pee guy off the team. If, and I stress if, Douglas is allowed back - he would lose any respect I had for him as well as most of his credibility.

But I seriously don't think Douglas will play another down for Iowa.

Can we start a "Where's Kirk" game? We can track him down and see where he pops up.

Does anybody know if the charges were ever filed for stealing the CD/DVDs? That would potentially be his third misdemeanor in two years on the team. I know that happened after this incident so I would think that would blow away his defered sentence when that gets settled.

I'm not sure when visiting hours start and end at the local cement and steel bars hotel there in Iowa City. We should know that before be start making any guesses..

He pled guilty to this and was fined.

Too bad the big 10 has extra restrictions for transfers between conf schools. Otherwise KF could kick him off the hawk squad, then go after the Mich job and help him rehab by bringing him closer to home. Maybe Douglas could first transfer to Ariz and then be eligible for the Luke Recker rule.

I bet Jason Berryman would have liked the opportunity to give back the $4 and the Cell phone and call it even. Oh yeah, and the other guy could punch him once in the jaw. That would have been justice.

If I ever get charged with something, I want a change of venue to Iowa City. I'd just have to make sure I leave my Cyclone gear at home.

I just gotta say the hawk players need to do something worse than stealing and using credit cards, if their goal is free public (prison) housing and meals in between football seasons.

Evidently stealing (repeatedly) and underage drinking, or blowing off court dates isn't bad enough to either get you kicked off the team OR put into jail.

We'll see if they still get a free red-shirt year for rape, this time, as well.

Actually, if I remember the justifications from the Pierre Pierce thing from last time, pleading guilty means you are innocent.

In the eyes of lowlife hawkfan(tm) that is....
