Just got back from our local grocery store.
Maybe I've mentioned this before, but they have a bar and a little gambling area.
I am always surprised at how many people are boozing and playing slots before noon....at a grocery store.
Wild
I missed the quote you posted but they must have missed the slot machines in kum and go days. They were full 24/7 with waiting lines behind them. Was irritating weaving through them to get a pop.
A lot of little places in Illinois like that.
Put $100 in the slot. Lose $75. Cash out, buy a pack of smokes and some scratchersI missed the quote you posted but they must have missed the slot machines in kum and go days. They were full 24/7 with waiting lines behind them. Was irritating weaving through them to get a pop.
Dude named Gosch, like kid who was kidnapped.Does Hy-Vee still have the CEO who makes these decisions unilaterally and blames everyone else when they don't work, when everyone told him they wouldn't work? The one who fired all their 30+ year employees or took away their benefits so they'd quit?
That one retired (Randy Edeker?) The new one likely running it about the same way. At least they admitted that their prices were too high. I have my doubts that they will adjust things enough to help.Does Hy-Vee still have the CEO who makes these decisions unilaterally and blames everyone else when they don't work, when everyone told him they wouldn't work? Went to pick up Beyond Meat the other day for the wife. It's an outrageous $11.99 for a pound. That one retired (Randy Edeker?) The new one likely running it about the same way. At least they admitted that their prices were too high. I have my doubts that they will adjust things enough to help.
But one of these days I’m gonna hit the big one…and then I’ll be able to put the full $100 in every day!Put $100 in the slot. Lose $75. Cash out, buy a pack of smokes and some scratchers
Is that the fake meat?Went to pick up Beyond Meat the other day for the wife. It's an outrageous $11.99 for a pound.
I'd say it's not helping much.
Help? Seems to me they are doing just fine. This has been going on for the last 3 years on this board, yet they haven't sold or gone out of business and their parking lots are as full as ever (at least in the DSM area). Do they do weird things...yep. Is it hurting their business? I'm not sure it is.That one retired (Randy Edeker?) The new one likely running it about the same way. It's he still like Chairman or something? He's probably hanging over the new guy's shoulder. That one retired (Randy Edeker?) The new one likely running it about the same way. At least they admitted that their prices were too high. I have my doubts that they will adjust things enough to help.
Maybe Des Moines is now safe from Marky Mark and his funky bunch![]()

lol at this comment from the Wahlburger CEO.

it would make more sense to have the market grilles be order at the counter type format. Some of the smaller Hy-Vee's are like this. No need to have a full wait staff, especially when finding help is difficult.
