This yaer Humboldt won the 3-A state championship. The 2 big names, Nielsen and Hundertmark, have committed to EIU. The MVP of the tourney, Jordan Smith, has not committed to a school yet. I believe this kid could be something special for the cyclones. He is listed at 6'1 or 2", 210 pounds with good speed. The kid is just a bull though. He had 256 yards against Clear Lake in the championship game. He also had the best run I have ever seen at the HS level. He went 56 yards after almost being stopped at the line of scrimmage. ISU should really look at this kid. There are some big linemen on this team as well. Just a thought.

I've just forwarded this information along to Chizik and his staff. Thanks for the heads up du4duks. If we sign Jordan Smith, I will make sure you get the praise!

I just forwarded this information along to Jeremy and the moderating staff. Thanks for the heads up hfthomp. If you are deemed to be an absolute prick, I will make sure you get the praise!

Thanks for the info du4duks.

Jordan Smith would be a great signing. Not only is he 6' 1" 210 lbs he has the frame to easily carry on 20 - 30 more pounds and keep his speed. He was a state qualifier in wreslting last year and is currently ranked #2 at his weight class. I saw him play three times this year, DCG/state semi's and the state championship, he is an oustanding player and great young man. He does not get in trouble...gets good grades...and is from a family with roots in the community.

Not sure why everyone has there underwear in a twist because "hfthomp" forwarded infoon Jordan ot Chisik....I think Chisik is well aware of Jordan Smith and they are evaluating(At least I hope they are). I believe UNI has been talking to him since last year. With all the talk about Nielson and Hundermark...Smith fell through the cracks...until the playoffs. Now he has gained interest from bigger schools. Not sure where ISU stands with him, but I will ask around, I for one would like to see him in a Cyclone uniform next season.

I heard Gene Chizik say that his staff was evaluating all the instate talent and then would make decisions on who they would offer scholarships too. It sounds to me like Mr Chizik has a high threshold for football talent, and Gene will NOT just give a scholarship out unless the kid is better than what is now at that position.(gene's quote not mine)

Does it really make a difference where the recruits come from? InState or Out we need to get the best talent available!:biggrin9gp: :biggrin9gp:
