How is the meal service at ISU?

I kept my meal service plan even living off campus. Was pretty convenient to just hop over after weights for breakfast... Never had a problem with the food and loved the breakfast...

Man, I miss ISU...

I loved food service, as did my waist...

Haha, QFT.

I think I avoided too much impact my 1st year, but in year 2 the soft serve machines showed up. An ice cream cone after every meal will put on a few pounds in a hurry.

MU burritos are the best i have ever had from anywhere. UDCC food is ok but i would have to agree that the best cafeteria food i have ever had is at the Rialto at UNI.

Does anyone else think the UDCC is designed poorly? Every space is tight and i have about run over people not looking where they are walking every time i have been there.

UDCC is pretty good, MU is my second choice until the New MWL opens up at least. Oak-Elm eh. is decent. and linden just sucks, and is terrible.

Linden used to be pretty good. I liked food service, but it tends to get old like most cafeteria food. It was solid.

Linden had the best I thought when I was there (98-02) Buffet style so things were more fresh and hot since everyone took generous portions. A lot of the other places you had to go back several times to get your filling because some of the portions were really skimpy.

The UDCC quesadillas are great. I used to eat one about every meal. I also loved breakfast there.

I was in Linden in the early to mid '90s and it was good then too, so it must have slipped recently. Also the lines were better there because it was smaller and out of the way.

I miss those

Omelette's were good too

On a whole dining was pretty decent. Got old after 3 years but 3 years later the food I make on a regular basis is getting old too... and I leave myself with less varriety

The UDCC Pasta Line is amazing. I'm a freshmen at Iowa State and made sure that I got in Friley so I'd be close to the good food center. Wing nights are always pretty good too!

Linden is every bit as good as Oak-Elm IMO. Especially with the Blue Bunny ice cream... that stuff is top notch.

oh well it basically says in 3 ranks that EIU has lots of beer, hard liqour and is the number 17 party school

I'm sure a lot of that has to do with the fact that the bars are 19 for some reason I really don't understand.

Turkey Canoe is hard to describe. If I recall correctly, it was this weird tubular piece of turkey type product, stuffed and then covered with gravy and probably enriched with sodium and lard.

It was awesome!! Although at the time, the glorious 80's, most everybody else i knew held a contrary opinion...

But they aren't gourmands like me!

This Turkey Canoe intrigues me, tell me more.
