Quick question for you all today. Please leave some constructive comments on how you want this story covered as far as our front page goes.

Do you remember how I had that running blog going on the front page during the Fred Hoiberg story?

Would you rather me start one of those up or save the front page for features, breaking news etc. during this time?

Thanks in advance. This is your site. I want to please the masses if possible.

Two treads - one with facts and the other with speculation. That should be easy enough. :jimlad:

As an aside; I think ISU fans should be kept up to date on the academic ramifications of all this.

A running commentary blog with links to breaking news would be great.

A running blog with the facts - let's ignore who says/tweets what if it's not official. While the speculations can be fun, we've had a lot of things like that and people started thinking of what ifs.
Let's report when things are confirmed and then start assessing the possibilities.

My creative side would like to see 2 things:
- Have Duffy make a cartoon that shows Bevo with a cane and wearing a large pimp hat, Herbie in a pair of fishnets, and some depiction of the Big 10 (11, 12...) as a very able and willing "john" holding a wad of cash...
- Someone mock up the 300th consecutive sellout logo to say 1 GIANT sellout.

From a content side, I can't even imagine all the work you are doing on this and your past performance has been stellar so just keep up the great work! Thanks!

Definitely a running blog with facts - it seems to me so far that the actual facts are that Orangebloods and ESPN have been reporting items based on their specific anonymous sources - their reporting it is a fact - the things like NU and the CU board of regents meetings and agenda changes are facts and the political/Grassley/Culver/Kansas delegation stances are facts.

The others seem to be re-reporting or pure speculation.

Things like budget effects that I sort of perused would be interesting - and what effect did the ACC poaching actually have on the Big East - financially, athletically and potentially academically? Haven't they actually increased their BCS performance? Things like that would be interesting.

take your interview with Chuck Grassley and write up an article spelling out how College Athletics is really a business and tax exempt status could get seriously challenged as part of this money grab - try to get quotes from Culver and Harkin on the subject too - push the State Politicians into making a public stand for ISU. Since the local media won't do it, fill the void and your site might just start getting the national hits that Orangebloodsuckers is enjoying right now. This is the fight of our lives as Cyclone fans, our efforts may not produce the results we want but to say we have no voice in the process concedes defeat, many on this site are tired of years of conceding defeat.

different colored fonts to differentiate facts, likely rumors, crazy-*** rumors, random thoughts you've had.

I liked the coverage when FH was hired.

Waaaaaaaaay to much material to read to try to find out when something is actually officially announced versus the gazillion "theories" that everyone has.

I think unless Iowa State is directly involved with the story leave it off the front page and keep the front page for Cyclone stories only. We have a Big 12 Conference forum, can make it a sticky there or something but I am not a fan how the conference realignment talk has taken away from Cyclone news lately. I realize it involves us in some aspect but we haven't been mentioned directly in most of the talk.

I think you need to start posting articles of random theories and present them as fact.

i.e. "Minnesota interested in joining SEC super conference?"
