Perfect off-season **** post about marshmallow doneness to follow. We just went camping with 25+ people so we got a pretty good discussion going around the campfire one night about the perfect roasted marshmallow. I'm a solid 5-6 honed after two summers as a camp counselor and frequent camper as an adult.

People that catch marshmallows on fire will be judged harshly in the next life.

Actually 4 and 5 remind me of the Eye Doctor visit. Better 4, better 5? I don't see much difference. 4 actually seems a little darker, but not as much area covered with the tan color.

Like mentioned above, it needs to be the whole marshmallow, not just one corner.

Anything past #4 is burnt and inedible.

That said, I literally can't remember the last time I had a marshmallow....

I don't see a lot of difference between 4 and 5, just different spot browned. I'm in the range of 4-7 on brownness, but the whole marshmallow would have to be toasted, not just a spot of it.
