Make sure to get your materials quickly if you have any upcoming construction projects. To grow my business, I’ve been working on a significant project over the last couple of years, starting with informing and getting approval from my neighbors, securing financing, and dealing with the DNR.
My contractor informed me that the contract price must increase due to a major rise in material costs. We finalized our deal before the tragic fires, and they wanted the material costs to be set at the time of purchase. I told them to lock me in, as prices could go down but could also go up. I made a down payment and insisted they secure the materials when they felt it was right.
My wife redlined their contract, and their attorney contacted her. They met, and the contractor amended the agreement, which we both signed.
Tomorrow, I’m gonna sic my wife on them.
On another note, there are a couple of things that will increase costs per the contract, and I'm fine with that as we both need to adhere to it. Ugh.
