The title of this thread reminded me of students putting notices in the Iowa State Daily (back in the 80s), with something like this:
" looking for the cute blonde gal at party in Friley last friday. We danced to "takin' care of business" together. Would like to see you again. Please call me at 515-###-####"

Our floor meetings almost always delved into the personals. And I worked at the daily for one year and there was a lot of phone calls on the personals But you make a good point and might be right.
