Oh, you mean the Weirs. They are a very nice couple from Sioux City. Their daughter is also from Sioux City but now lives in West Des Moines. They come to visit her and really like cheesecake, so they frequent the Cheesecake Factory. The last time I saw them in the area was the 30th, but they all plan on getting together next week.

Huge ISU fans, they don’t get to games as much as they would like due to the distance and feeling guilty they aren’t spending time with their daughter, who lives in West Des Moines via Sioux City, which is where the Weirs reside.

They’ve mentioned before how much they miss the energy of the games at Jack Trice Stadium. They still catch every game on TV and host small watch parties with a few close friends back in Sioux City. Their daughter, though not as passionate about football as her parents, always teases them about their “game day rituals,” like wearing their lucky Cyclones shirts and ordering the same takeout for every game.

The Weirs are also known for their generosity. Whenever they visit their daughter, they bring her care packages filled with homemade jams, fresh bread, and other treats from back home. They’ve become quite popular at the Cheesecake Factory too—staff recognize them and sometimes even have their favorite cheesecake slices waiting for them.

Next week, their gathering will include a little celebration: their daughter just got a promotion at her job in West Des Moines, and they couldn’t be prouder. They are very thankful for their friends and health. They’re planning to make a day of it, of course, pumpkin pie cheesecake to cap it all off.

Hi! That is them for sure. If you see them just let them the 3 of them know I have extra K-state tickets and usually have extra basketball tickets as well. Or if they just want to stay in touch that would be cool too! Thanks

The title of this thread reminded me of students putting notices in the Iowa State Daily (back in the 80s), with something like this:
" looking for the cute blonde gal at party in Friley last friday. We danced to "takin' care of business" together. Would like to see you again. Please call me at 515-###-####"

Got it, and I had a feeling it was them. I don't think they'll make it to the K-State game since they just lost their cat, Willie. They really loved that cat, even though it had an oddly large head and a skinny body.

I've never liked that cat.

This was your 4th post since 2006? You wouldn't even be allowed to sell tickets on CF.;)

Come back more often!

I was neutral about the vibe of this thread but including K-State-cat-Willie raised an eyebrow since Willie the Wildcat is K-States grotesque mascot with the huge head on a students body. But I guess this conversation is legit…..it’s CF after all.

The Personals were the most read part of the daily.
