I’ve attended every Omaha/CB stop of the tailgate tour since before Fred skipped it to take the bulls job. Couldn’t make it this year, so my girlfriend, on her own accord, went mostly to grab a few posters and see the pop tarts trophy. She is not an Iowa State fan but has certainly been forced into being one. She decided to wait in line for TJ, who essentially ended up doing an in-person cameo video wishing us well on parenthood and offered advice with a side of Coach speak. Won’t let me upload the video but was quite the nice touch. Next year I’ll be at the tour and Teej will get to hold the baby himself, God willing.

It’s a girl, per the blood testing. Joella/Jojo will be joining us roughly Dec 21.
Awesome.

Also, just because all your family may be home, don't feel like you HAVE TO let them all see your couple days old baby.
And dont let them all kiss their head/etc.

Listen to your partner because it can be very overwhelming.

I think we politely told family to **** off for the first 4-6 weeks honestly

Might be a good idea to set expectations with family on Christmas. Tell them to not expect you for any gatherings this year. Don’t need to be getting together with family with a potential newborn. Even if baby isn’t born yet. Mama needs her rest.

Good evening all, my girlfriend and I (25 and 26) recently learned she’s pregnant. I never in my life imagined I’d have a baby out of wedlock, though I’m confident this is the woman I was going to marry regardless. I definitely will now! Outside of the fear of telling her parents, I’m very excited and looking forward to this chapter. I am a home owner, I’m financially stable, but again, not married. My dad passed away via suicide when I was 4, so my memories of a father-son relationship are slim and none. Any advice in general for this process and any must-know’s for being a “young” dad that wants to be the dad I never had? My mom passed away last year so I’m really anxious to have a family of my own.
Congrats. Stop worrying about it being out of wedlock. Its 2025. It happens. I also understand how losing a mother makes you miss something in life. Im not sure ive ever enjoyed life as much after seeing my mother suffer and pass away from cancer in 2014. You'll do awesome!
