I suppose you went with the majority and not me....
Not to hijack the thread but it seems OK since the original question has been answeredI'm wondering if anyone has ever run a long HDMI cord? My basement computer sits at the opposite end of the room from where my tv is. I'd like to run an HDMI cable from the computer to the TV now that I've got someone lined up to get me access to ESPN360. I'd need 60-75'. I know the longer distance is not recommended but I'm wondering if anyone has ever tried it.?

Very nice informative article! That is a very clear and concise explanation-I'll bookmark that for future reference.
It's not 50 X 25 but it is a decent size room. It's 36 feet long with the computer in the back corner. And the TV is centered at the other end. I'll run the cord through the drop ceiling. So I need approx. 7' up and down as well as another 10' to the center of the room where the TV is. So I've pretty much determined it needs to be longer than 50'.
