It is 25ish hour trip but no driving. Sounds like the mountains are beautiful scenery and you go through them mid morning. Tickets are cheaper the earlier you book. We booked ours in July and with a 20% discount each was just over $100 round trip.

Good luck! Between my friends and I our experiences have been hit or miss on on the train(s) being on time. That said, if the route you're on is going through the Rockies you'll have some great views. I've been told you want to get up to the viewing car early after you get to Denver to sort of reserve your seats.
I’m in section 122 row 16, but those are my season tickets. The section over is generally where most visitors sit, but sometimes it bleeds over. I kind of like sitting near the visitors.
Cool! We're in row 18. I had heard 121 was visitor section but apparently I'm not important enough to be able to order away tickets through the university, so I got as close as I could.
