Good to hear. Amazing that she didn't get drafted. Lets hope she plays in the WNBA for a long time.

Gonna be a long shot with a training camp contract and a Mercury roster of 19 others that needs to get to 12 in the next 30 days. Hope it's a good experience for her. Probably going to get a chance to play overseas if she wants to or start her graphics designer career (or both).

And some academic honors from last night:

Last night Elly Arganbright, Ashley Hagedorn, Hallie Christofferson and Brynn Williamson were honored at the student-athlete banquet for their academic successes!

Congrats to Hal. One of the nicest and hardest working Cyclones out there!
When you look at our graduating seniors year after year, it is amazing how you could say the same thing about them as well (and, yes, Hallie is an EXTREMELY special player & person). This is a testament to the type of program that Bill runs & the special people he brings into the program.

She has the size, work ethic, and range of shots to have a good opportunity.

I believe Hallie will make it in the WNBA. She got gypped out of her senior season in so many ways this year. She was a much better player than she was able to show on the court. If she makes it, I will begin watching the WNBA. I have completely ignored it in the past and will continue if she doesn't make it.

I met Hallie Saturday night..let's just say I accidentally called her Callie and a volleyball player.. I was also several bud light platinums in. Definitely not one of my brightest moments. :twitcy: I am extremely happy for her though!

We had Bill at our table Sat night. He felt Hallie probably wouldn't play/be too successful at WNBA but felt she could make a ton of money playing overseas. Whatever she does, I wish her all the best. She was a one-of-a-kind student athlete from a great small town Iowa family.

Since Hallie won't be forced to play out of position in the WNBA (or overseas) like she was this year, I see a long and successful career for her either way.

This blog link was tweeted by ISU. You can see some video with Hal in Day 3. Also the latest -- Day 5 -- post says this:

Other Notes: Today’s practice was, by far, the most fluid and intense of camp so far. Brondello continued to add dimensions of her offense to the squad while also working on conditioning. Her practices are detail oriented, but always active. Hallie Christofferson has looked increasingly better every day – a hustler. Alexis Gray-Lawson was vocal and aggressive on offense today, more so than previous days. Tiffany Bias and Maggie Lucas continue to impress.

Looks like the Mercury have trimmed their roster. The only draftee remaining is Tiffany Bias. Even Maggie Lucas from Penn State was cut. Hal is no longer on the roster. Probably not surprising given that she was signed for training camp. Will be interesting to see if she gets other opportunities this season in the WNBA.
