the guitar on rock band sucks though. the drums are quite fun to play

We use the GH3 guitar on Rock Band because we hate the one that came with it so much.

Rock Band gets the edge because they keep coming out with new songs, which is nice.

We can with the 360, at least - not sure about the PS2 or PS3??
I heard PS3's wasn't compatible. The weird thing is, you can use the GH3 Guitar on Rock band on the 360, but not the other way around.

Still, the guitar on rock band is easier than on GH3, but the drums are where it's at, and the DLC every week is awesome.

The funniest part is when he goes down in his underwear and trys to rock out only to get booed off the stage. :biglaugh:

Exactly, I don't know how many times I laughed so hard at that episode. My stomach almost hurt! "Wait son, I almost caught the dragon." "Dad you'll never catch the dragon, that's the whole point!" :biglaugh:

That's great to know! We have Guitar Hero III, but my fiance wants to get Rock Band as well, and that will save buying an extra guitar for our jam sessions.

It works SO much better. We had to send our Rock Band one back because of some malfunction. They were great about sending a new one, but it's nice to have the GH3 wireless one.

If there are some people who don't want to play the drums, you can actually just get any USB microphone and use the GH3/2 guitars to get a pretty functional "band" without having to pay for the whole setup. We just got the whole thing because I used to play drums, but I know of some people who did it that way.

I've attempted to play Guitar Hero at Best buy and let's just say that I do not rock.

So far I've sent my Rock Band guitar back for a broken strummer bar, and my drums back for a faulty kick pedal, just malfunctioning not snapped in half like a lot of them. They're return procedure is excellent though, got my replacement in about 2 days both times, sent the old one back with shipping paid and that was it.

The drums definitely take the most getting used to, probably just because it's such a new thing unlike the guitar, but I must say the drums really make the game.

It really helps if you have a pretty established musical background. I was a drummer and in chorus, so I'm used to rhythms and reading music (which you're not really doing with these games, but kind of). We have a couple of friends who have absolutely NO formal music training, and it took them longer to pick it up.

I agree, cmoney - the drums are the most fun part of RB.

So with my second chair trombone background, an instrument I last played 18 years ago, I should be rock'n huh?

I'm absolutely not musically inclined, so it can be done. I'm not great at rock band, I can play guitar on expert decently well and drums on hard for most songs. Although I'm sure having some sort of rythym would help, I wasn't graced with that gift.
