I gave my Weber kettle grill to my parents and bought an Acorn Kamando grill. I love the Acorn. It is easy to control the temp, does great at smoking, and cooks a mean burger and steak.

I know Weber used to be top of the line for propane grills for a long time. Are they still? Every time I've seen a newer one I don't understand why they are so expensive - are they just going off of their name value, just like Traeger in the pellet grill/smoker category?

I have had 2 Weber gas grills in the last 29 years. Salt, acid fats, heat, smoke tubes, I beat the crap out of them. There are wear parts and you can easily find them. That is a big plus to me. My 1st grill had 3 total grate sets and 4 sets of flavorizor bars. The one I have now is 6 year old. Total investment around 1700 dollars including replacement parts. Just make sure you get the BTUs per square inch that is what you need. Dont buy a weber Spirit. Read up on BTUs per square inch. It is everything on a gas grill. If you are going to buy a gas grill. I dont know and havent heard of anything that is as good as a Weber. No sear station no side burner for me. I can do that my self without the added expense. 600° no problem in the warmer months. Reverse sear anytime you want.

I need to replace my old worn out weber genesis and looking to buy a new grill. It caught on fire and even though I caught it on time, the bottom of the grill is warped. Some grease got caught and started on fire, even thought I clean it out regularly. It seems Napoleon is becoming very popular due to their limited lifetime warranty. Does anyone have a Napoleon?

I'm debating between Weber Genesis 335 vs Neapolitan Prestige 500.

Bought this low cost model 5 years ago. Never has been covered. Works great. Like the individual 3 burners with spark starter. Always figured that if one burner rusted out, I have two more new and unused.

I got a Weber Genesis grill quite a few years ago (15) and still have it. They might cost a little bit more, but are worth it. If anything wears out, it’s easy to find replacements without having to replace the entire grill.

Got my Weber Genesis off a swap site for $350. 3 burners and a sear burner. Probably only used a couple times. Just a couple of spots on the lid where the paint has faded. Thing is solid and love the cast iron grates.

Lift the lid on a Weber. It weighs a ton. Well built. My next grill will be a Weber.

My next purchase. Gas is for chumps!
Damn! I recently bought a new Weber gas grill, and I'm happy with it, but THAT looks like fun!

23 years and counting on my Weber. Replaced grates, burners, igniter, and bars a few times. Fully expect at least another ten but at some point I’ll likely just replace just for the heck of it as WiFi and some other newer features might be fun.

Can't wait.
I have resorted to putting 2 charcoal briquettes in a smoke box that I place in my gas grill to get some charcoal flavor. It works, but now I'm feeling like a minor-leaguer...

When you start working it, give us a report.

Will do. I have the Weber ultimate charcoal grill for now. It works well but its hard to regulate anything hotter than 325 degrees for extended time.

Napoleon is expensive for a reason but you can walk into any Ace Hardware and get parts/accessories for a Weber

Beside my Weber I have an electric Masterbuilt smoker. I use a tube or maze for the pellets.

My basic Weber charcoal did me well for years. Wanted a smoker and just replaced it all with a Pit Boss last year.

Wish I waited a year. The new Pit Boss models I've seen at Lowes look like a great value.

We upgraded this spring to a Weber gas from a $130 Home Depot special. It’s unreal how much more even the heat is across the grilling surface. It’s night and day over the cheapos.

We also have a Weber Kettle that gets used when I feel like using charcoal. Smoked some ribs on it a couple weekends ago. The hand me down kettle grill we had before this one got retired after about 30 years of service. They last forever.
