Grills: Weber vs Napoleon

I need to replace my old worn out weber genesis and looking to buy a new grill. It caught on fire and even though I caught it on time, the bottom of the grill is warped. Some grease got caught and started on fire, even thought I clean it out regularly. It seems Napoleon is becoming very popular due to their limited lifetime warranty. Does anyone have a Napoleon?

I'm debating between Weber Genesis 335 vs Neapolitan Prestige 500.

I know Weber used to be top of the line for propane grills for a long time. Are they still? Every time I've seen a newer one I don't understand why they are so expensive - are they just going off of their name value, just like Traeger in the pellet grill/smoker category?

Weber uses quality parts that last a long time. They're worth it. That said, I know nothing about Napoleon

I know the Weber Spirit recently was America's Test Kitchens top pick for a propane grill under $500.

My Weber Genesis is about 5 years old now and have been very happy with it . I also have a pellet smoker so all I need it for is to grill. Easy to keep clean and easy to find and replace parts. If nothing else I'd recommend a weber grill cover. My last one lasted 5 years sitting outside. Typically I feel lucky if I get 3 years out of most covers.

I've had my Weber for about 5 years now and they are built with quality parts that don't rust out after 3 years.. Weber also has really affordable replacement parts compared to a lot of other brands if you do need to replace something.

I don't care what anyone says but this is the best grill ever made:

Still have the one I bought back in 2004 when I bought my first house and it's still in great shape and grills up some tasty steaks and burgers. Only time I use a gas grill is for tailgating because charcoal is just too messy to transport. Gives you another reason to relax and have another cold one while you wait for the coals to heat up too. ;)

I had a Napoleon LEX 3 burner, not sure of the model, few years old. Bought it used for a steal. Parked it on our back patio, about once a year a really bad storm would come through and roll that bad boy off the patio down a 5ft tall hill. Nothing ever broke and everything still works just as it should. I've been really impressed. Plus the beefy stainless wave grates are pretty cool too.

Not sure how you feel about pellet smoker/grills but check out Smoking Brother's pellet grills.

The availability of replacement parts is why I went Weber. If something fails after a decade, I don’t need a whole new grill.

Actually… I may have made a terrible mistake…

I remember my neighbor telling me the same thing about my Traeger while bragging about his green mountain. Then proceeded to tell me he has had to make warranty claims on two green mountains. Never had a problem with my Traeger.

We previously had a Char-Broil and the infrared pan broke on it over the winter. Parts are back ordered until who knows when. So for mother's day I bought a new Weber Genisis II 4 burner grill cause the best mother's day present is my husband doing all the grilling and me not having to cook during the summer.

Did you have to use Traeger pellets to ensure your warranty would not be voided if you used another brand of pellets? Heard that one from a local Traeger dealer.

You can always take the auger out. If you vacuumed it out I have no idea how they would know.

Wouldn't know, never had to make a warranty claim.
