Hasn't this show been on before?
Wasn't it called St. Elsewhere? Then Chicago Hope? Then ER?
Is there some sort of FCC regulation stating there has to be at least one hospital based mellow-drama on each network per season?
We had some sort of cable outage last night (thanks once again mediacom - wow, your service is WAAAY better than satellite :baffled5wh
. My wife asked me to DVR Grey's and when she got home, black screen.
You would've thought we missed the second coming of Christ on American Idol or something.

No offense to anyone that really likes this show, but may I ask why you like it so much? Like DaddyMac said the idea of a medical drama has been done to death. Not just recently either, I'm talking all the way back to MASH. If you guys want to watch a good medical show watch Scrubs. If you want to watch a drama watch CSI. If your wife makes you watch it, well, just don't have a wife then.
My bold predicition is that in three years it will be cancelled, cough....The OC...cough, or it will lose cast members and drag on for years, cough...ER...Cough. I just don't get why people like this show.

I'm not a Grey fan, but have seen a few episodes. Does anyone agree that the character who plays Grey is the ugliest person on the show? That was my initial thought.
As far as last night's episode, I didn't see it, I'm Jack Bauer could fix everything.

I would have to think that at some of those cold football games my body temp had to be close to 80 degrees (i.e. Missouri '04, Texas Tech '06, etc.) and I wished I was dead after those games.
I have to admit, I watch it regularly and its not bad... I also like to watch because of a little personal encounter I had with Katherine Heigel...

I get dragged into watching this show too but I think she's starting to realize it's becoming a little ridiculous. So, she's drowning, he drags her out of the water,finds an ambulance, has a minimum 5 minute ride to the hospital, they pull her out and she's still not breathing. Then they have her on the table and her heart stops like three more times. Shouldn't she be dead already? I wish they would kill her off but it's not happening.
I am some what glad to say that my significant other has never watched the show. In return I have never been forced to watch the show. So reading this thread I am completely clueless to what everybody is talking about and I am ok with that. haha GO CYCLONES!
No pics available, but both our families were on vacation at the same resort in Hilton Head right after she finished filming 'My Father the Hero'... Spent some good qt together... ; )
If she dies, she'd be the first lead character in TV history to die. The makeup people did do a heckuva job making her look blue though. Unless the writers are cleverer than I think, my guess would be what's his name who's suffering out in the hallway will come in, do something heroic and save her.
The show did "jump the shark" last season though. I don't think Katherine Heigl's whiny character is believable exactly, but she sure is nice to look at. For those of you who think "Grey" is homely, where are you ranking that Korean chick?

Gosh that show sucks. My wife watches it every week and gets mad when I rip on the stupid stuff they do. Plus, it doesn't help that every time you look up someone is getting a knife stuck in their eye or a huge needle stuck in their hand. Thursday has almost become a mandatory drinking night for me to get through that crap followed by "Men in Trees." By the time I get to the Trees show it almost seems good...:eek4wd:
P.S. Does anyone else think that the "I got hit in the face with a pan" lady is ugly enough to make you puke by just looking at her?

I love the show. And, yes, I'm a chick so draw your own conclusions. However, it's not about being doctors or the cool stuff they do like save people. While that can make for an interesting backdrop to a story and can be the reason for why guys like it or whatever, but that is not what the show is about.
The show is about emotional issues. It is about learning to love yourself and those around you. It has plot lines that show characters growing and changing and making mistakes. There is some very real dialogue in it. And while you might say Katherine Heigle's character is unbelievable...she is very much a woman and her character speaks and acts like many people I know. That goes back to why so many people love it. These characters are really just people we know. We all know someone a little gay and awkward like George. We all know a perfectionist and emotionally stunted person like Cristina. We all know the hot, but crass guys like McSteamy. And we all want a man in our life that is tender and sweet and caring like McDreamy. That is what the show is about. A metaphor for our life or what we would like our life to be like.
Say your wives or girlfriends make you watch it...or, be a man and say you watch it because you enjoy it. Whatever makes you happy.

ABC repeating it self? I think they(ABC) is going to kill off Grey and then she will stay on and do voice-overs at the start and end of shows. Much like Desp HW. The writer's are starting to run out of ideas already.
