WASHINGTON (AP) — District of Columbia police say CBS basketball analyst and former NBA player Greg Anthony has been arrested and charged with soliciting a prostitute.

Lt. Kelvin Cusick tells The Associated Press that Anthony was arrested at 5:46 p.m. on Friday. He said Saturday that Anthony faces a misdemeanor solicitation charge that's punishable by up to 180 days in jail.

Cusick says the 47-year-old Anthony was released Friday evening. No further details were available.
According to the NCAA website, Anthony was scheduled to announce the Michigan State-Maryland men's basketball game Saturday in nearby College Park, Md.

The guard played 11 seasons, with six teams, from 1991-92 to 2001-02, including the New York Knicks and Portland Trail Blazers.

He averaged 7.3 points per game over his career.

C'mon, man. This guy should be able to get laid just about any time he wants without paying for it, even disregarding whether he's cheating on a wife or g/f. Don't know why high profile guys like this take these kinds of risks.

I've heard MANY pro athletes prefer prostitutes. Prostitutes don't blackmail, or accuse of rape, they keep their mouths shut and they leave when they're done.

As a college game announcer, I really liked him and his call on games. He had a couple ISU games last year, I believe. Perhaps his career in the NBA corrupted him:)

This, I had to look up who the hell he even was. Name sounded familiar, sort of, so I find he is some guy from the way back that had a mediocre B-list NBA career or something.

Yeah, and he's only been on all of the March Madness CBS broadcasting the past several years.....

I don't think that's what they are paying for, probably the opposite actually.

I'm guessing you're not old enough to remember the UNLV teams he was a starter on. Those two years they won the national championship and lost to Duke in the Final Four, they were the celebrity team of college sports...had rock star status

I watched those teams but remember him primarily from the Knicks teams that set basketball backwards a few decades with their "style" of play.

Have you ever watched a NCAA tourney game in the last 5 years or so?

He is associated closely with some b-list athletic competition like march madness or something. I don't really watch that junk but I'm a huge cyclone fan.

i kid.
