Just like every year, no one can get a read on Texas Tech. I think we can beat them, and if want any chance to make a bowl it starts here. Lose and you're basically playing for experience.

Eh...a bowl game is pretty optimistic at this point...I'd like to see them win more than the predicted 3 games at the start of the season. There's no doubt that any game they play garners experience, and they're awfully short on that!

Well, from how TT has been play thus far, I find it funny that Tech fans claim Tuberville ran their program into the ground. His recruits seem to be playing pretty well so far.

Don't misunderstand me, he left us with some very good players, including Amaro. However, his OL recruiting was terrible, and left us in a really bad spot this year. We have a strong tradition of solid offensive lines, so that's tough to swallow for a lot of Tech fans.

Really? I found it to be an informative and positive post from a well meaning poster. I appreciated what he had to share and took me all of 1 minute to read.
I pretty much just assume we're being trolled by opposing fan bases generally. Don't really see the point in trying to make nice with other fan bases.

How do you even measure TTU at this point? They have played the worst strength of schedule of anyone in the FBS. Honestly they havent blown me away even with the playing cupcakes. Look who ISU has played so far, lost to UNI who lost by 1 yesterday at NDSU (who beat K State), lost to a 4-2 Iowa team, destroyed Tulsa and had a victory stolen from them against Texas. Wally is so good at matching up against TTU, I think we steal one on the road.

I understand where you're coming from...but a lot of that logic can be applied to Iowa State as well. We have played a poor schedule so far, but we have done what we were supposed to do. You have played a tougher schedule, but that really only matters if you win. Tulsa and UNI aren't good measuring sticks for Big 12 teams, and Iowa and Texas are not good teams.

I hate Iowa, but TTU would get destroyed by Iowa.

Oh and we did what we were suppose to against Tulsa and Texas and won both of those games.

Iowa State dominated Texas at nearly every position. Which is important because Texas has talent at every position (4 and 5 stars). It is Texas' coaching that makes them a bad team. The biggest thing for me is that our offensive line pretty much dominated run blocking. Gannon handled Jeffcoat.

Texas Tech is the only team in the Big 12 I can't get a read on. I think they are a good team and made a GREAT hire in Kliff K. but they also haven't really played anybody. Iowa State has looked better the last two weeks after looking awful against UNI and Iowa but it's hard to get a read on us either.

Looking forward to Saturday.

Going to need more than that.

I take it you have not seen Iowa play this season? They are a really good team. I have not been impressed at all by your defensive line or linebackers no matter what your post says. You would struggle against Weisman. Just looking at it from an outside perspective. Didnt you struggle to beat Minnesota last season?

Personally, i think TT would kick Iowa's ***. It would be a matchup nightmare for Iowa's defense. The only thing that would keep the score respectable would be the way Iowa chews big chunks of time clock keeping the ball on the ground and out of the hands of TT's offense. I think we would beat Iowa at this stage, tho.
