I agree! You know, I think that MJF just had that certain charisma &, for a lack of a better term, the "it" factor that made most of his roles "iconic." I always think of someone like James Earl Jones - besides the obvious Darth Vader voice, his role as Greer in "The Hunt for Red October" or Mr Mertle in "The Sandlot" or Terence Man in "Field of Dreams" - as another actor who has starred in "iconic" roles.Totally biased but there just aren't characters like Marty McFly any more and a large part of that is because there aren't people that fit that kind of role as well as MJF did.
I'm not saying there aren't great actors or really well done movies. But who today is out there that you see and automatically think of something totally iconic?
Anyway his story is very sad and inspirational at the same time.
