A severly autistic teenager named Winfred Cooper from the Chicago suburb of Elgin scored a touchdown in a JV football game last weekend against Lake Park High School. The two schools' varsity teams faced each other last night, and after the first quarter Cooper and his father walked across the field to thank the Lake Park coaches for helping make a dream come true for him. Cooper's dad was wearing an ISU Football t-shirt.

The link below will take you to the original story from earlier in the week. Great story and cool seeing an ISU shirt.

I'm glad they decided to let the story be told. It was a wonderful read. Thanks for posting it.

To add to the story, the original plan was for Cooper to be gently steered out of bounds after the catch. The Lake Park players took it upon themselves to change the plan and decided that if he caught the ball, they would "miss" the tackle and let him run for the TD.

I'm a proud Lake Park alum.
