I get home in time to turn on my tv and see Pitbull.
Great.

I felt like Charlie Brown getting rocks while trick-or-treating.

Just now realizing that D'Angelo "Black Messiah" wasn't even up for best album, which is a big reason why I've stopped watching/caring about the Grammys.

I didn't watch much of the Grammy's but Lady Gaga's Bowie "tribute" was an absolute ****-show. It started out okay with "Space Oddity", but just got more and more ridiculous. "Suffragette City" was an absolute disgrace and I don't think "Rebel Rebel" could have been any cornier. By the end it was like a weird reverse drag show or something.

I'll second Goclones1727. The Alabama Shakes are bad-***.

Well, I mean, she was paying tribute to Bowie. Did you expect an evening gown?

The Lady Gaga act I thought was good. I hope Alabama Shakes didn't play their best song because I thought it was blah.

I may need to listen to this more because the only song I liked was King Kunta.
I think maybe GKMC had more wide ranging appeal because it's songs are more catchy. In terms of individual songs I maybe like GKMC more, Money Trees, Swimming Pools, ***** Don't Kill my Vibe, etc. But To Pimp a Butterfly just sounds powerful, it sounds like every song and every word has meaning behind it.

All of this. I'm not a huge Grammys fan, but switched over after the final episode of Gravity Falls when the kids were asleep. I got there just in time for Lady Gaga basically squatting on Bowie's grave. I adore Bowie, so I was fairly annoyed.

I love the Alabama Shakes. Bummed that they lost to freaking T-Swift for album of the year.
