Garza is better than either of those two.

Any list that doesn't include Shayok is laughable. I'd take Young or Jacobson over Garza just based on defense alone
Anyone that's watched these two teams with no bias would take Young over Garza.
I'd take an unproven Zion Griffin over Garza.
I've seen Garza play, he just doesn't run the floor well enough. Now, if he can develop into being a great banger in the post like Jared Homan, then he'll be ok. I haven't seen Fran's players develop enough though to even think that's possible.

Heck, lets just throw Lard's numbers into the debate as well.

Clone fans have a hard time admitting that a goofy looking kid that runs funny and plays for Iowa is better than most of their big men. I will give Lard a "push" with Garza.

I hope you keep getting Garza type players and we keep getting more Lard type players.

I doubt McKays stats show his effectiveness on the floor but Lard can eclipse that by the end of his sophomore year.

Wait. So, you're now trying to say that Garza and Lard are the same? Crying out loud dude. Lard is night and day better than Garza.

Why do you disagree @benjimill ? I'd be more than happy to have a discussion about it.

Garza was elite offensively last year as a freshman with plenty of room to improve. He had a better PER and BPM than anyone on Iowa State’s roster, and was a better rebounder than anyone on Iowa State’s roster.

I get that he is easy to make fun of because he is a slow footed, goofy looking white guy, but Garza would be one of the best (if not THE best) offensive players on Iowa State’s team. He wasn’t good defensively, but he wasn’t as terrible as those on this board make him out to be. If you think Iowa State (or the combined Iowa-Iowa State team) wouldn’t find 20 minutes a game for an elite offensive player and rebounder, you are delusional.

I assume you think Lard is a lot better than Cook and Bohannon because of PER right?

Yeah, when someone responds to a factual/statistical based argument with a g

If we're talking about last season only, I'd put Garza behind Wigginton, Jackson, Lard, and Babb. Maybe even Talley. There's nothing elite about Garza. There's one elite talent in the state of Iowa as of May 11th and that's Wigginton. Period. End of story.

I didn’t rely solely on PER. Good try though, Twins. Lard is probably a better all around player than both Cook and Bohannon. Bohannon and Cook both have higher OBPM and offensive win shares. I think it would be pretty difficult to claim Lard is a better offensive player than either Cook or Bohannon.

Lol. What makes Wigginton an elite talent?
