Seems like it just makes things more difficult for ISU. Think about the recruits Beard can get if he wins a championship... That's scary. And he doesn't have to go far to get a ton of great recruits in the state.

I just think it bodes well for the conference and by association, ISU. Playing the best is how you have a chance to be the best. Reminds me of the old Big East. When it started out Seton Hall and Providence were no-names and the whipping boys of the conference. In its prime they were playing in Final Fours.

I'm super jelly of Tech's success, but I can't but help cheer for them. Having a Big 12 team win the NC outside of KU builds even more credence in the conference.

As an aside, I sincerely hope that Prohm is watching these games with a pen and a pad of paper in regards to defense and player rotations. Offense, I'm not terribly concerned about.

I'll be pulling for them tonight. Love how they play defense. They just grind and stay in the game whether their shots are falling or not. Beard's done one hell of a job there.

I don't know, I would be tempted as hell to lock up $125k, rather than leave it to chance. It's a 50/50 game, so the p-value of the ticket is more than $125k, but still...

You could probably do some creative betting to hedge and guarantee yourself $200k somehow. Smarter wiseguys than me can probably figure something.

This guy is a hedge bettor. Whole article on him on ESPN. Has money on Virginia as well, so either way he is going to make some money.

Beard has done a great job. He is impressive. I don't think I've ever heard announcers gush about team practices and team preparation like they have for TT during the tournament.

And the other thing that TT has (as do generally all of the teams that get to the Final Four)...somebody makes the big play when TT needs the big play. They've had that pretty much all year. Need a 3-pointer...somebody makes it. Need a defensive play or a block...somebody makes it. Need rebound...somebody gets it.

I don't know where that comes from...if it something that is coached, or it is just a gift that the athletes are blessed with. Looking back at ISU's season...ISU had that in some games, but not night in and night out.

Mooney does drive me nuts though...when he dribbles along the baseline under the basket. It seems that he could use the hoop to screen out the defender trailing him and score on a reverse layup, but he just keeps dribbling.

We'll see how it goes tonight.

We don’t generally recruit Texas anyway. The Midwest. However.
