i saw another thread, but that seemed kid-centric and I didn’t want to hijack.

I’ve got a friend flying me out for 10 days in the end of May to dog watch for them. Sounds like it’s in the Littleton area, but I’ll be able to use their car, so travel shouldn’t be much of a problem. I’ve been to Denver a few times, but they’ve been work related so I didn’t have as much freedom to just go and do things. Looking for recommendations of things to do. Definitely interested in doing some hiking, so if anyone knows some good areas for that, that’s a plus.

Also, you’re a little far from Moab staying in Denver but if you can swing it somehow, head down toward Arches for a day.

If you're a fan of "The Shining," check out the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park. It's what inspired Stephen King to write the book. The tour is a bit cheesy, but the hotel is cool to walk around and hear the history and have a drink in the bar. Estes in general is a cool place to go, anyway.

Not exactly sure.
Go whitewater rafting. Plenty of places around there. It's a bit north but Rocky Mountain national park has several mountains to hike.

Don't let the dog eat the brownies. Your friends won't invite you back.

Went over spring break with some buddies. Garden of the Gods and Red Rock Amphitheater are very cool. The Coors Brewery tour (free) was a pretty good way to spend an hour and you get free beer out of it.

The last few times we were in Denver we ventured out to Idaho Springs. It's about a 45 minute drive straight on I-70. Real neat little town with hiking and white water rafting. A few cool little bars and an awesome pizza place.

Find the threads from our NCAA games in Denver. Lots of discussion about breweries.

If you can get up to Boulder it is amazing. Campus/Hill...Pearl Street...Boulder Mtn Park has many amazing hikes that I wouldn’t call mules.
