Yep, used TaxACT for years after not wanting to fill in the paper forms anymore. Their prices exploded so figured I'd give FreeTaxUSA a chance however many years ago. Absolutely no complaints and see no value add in having someone prepare mine for me.I’ve used FreeTaxUSA the past several years. It’s really simple, as far as I’m concerned. I have absolutely no complaints and I’d recommend it to anyone.
The federal return is so easy, I willingly pony up the $14.99 or whatever it is to let them file my state taxes, too.
This from a guy who had always done his own taxes, filling out and mailing paper returns, for decades until I found FreeTaxUSA maybe 4 or 5 years ago.
I’ve absolutely done this. But the old adage applies: if the product is free, you’re the product.most sites won't charge you until you file: enter your financials into a couple of them, and if the results line up between them, submit it with which ever one is cheapest
