I think Mineo is 100% right here. The Bassets and Melvin Miller are huge program changer recruits. What these big schools are doing like Penn state and Oklahoma state are pushing hard into RTC training and it seems like from Willie and Basch that the Bassets wanted flights to Iowa city to train in Iowa’s RTC. As an Iowa state fan I wish there was a way because these guys are program changers and to take the amazing job Dresser is doing to the next level. Ik it won’t happen but one can only dream.

This is crazy to me. Why wouldn't you want Bo and Melvin on campus to train? It eases the transition and you would think it would help improve both Bo and Melvin to be even higher impact early in their careers. If this is true, it is truly a brain-dead decision by Brands
I don’t understand how TnT seats aren’t hotter.

Because they live in the 80s. There’s a reason they have a bag man running all their transfer recruiting because they don’t know how to do it. They dropped the ball here, plain and simple.

I think their big donor has said that he’s gone whenever the Brands go. But still, if the coaches can’t keep the guys that the money gets them, what’s the point?

Hypothetical question here what if iowa were to move on from TnT and Iowa were to look for another coach, Metcalf would surely be on the radar. That’s assuming the AD cleans house and starts fresh. Does metcalf make the jump or does he stay? Who would take over the helm after dresser if Metcalf were to leave?

If Metcalf were offered the Iowa job, I am sure he would take it- Iowa is truly a top 1-2 job in the nation. However, I am guessing they would go for a bigger name like a JB, Dake, or maybe Nolf.

Yeah I would think that too but I know they like to hire from within the program or at least that’s what it has been in the past.
