They should keep their souls and finish 15th like ISU. Or did ISU sell their soul for 15th with AE, Chittum, Bockman, Carroll?

Yeah, it’s really great for the sport to let other programs develop guys into title contenders just to have a donor buy them for your team for their last season.
its awful for this sport and all others
if you can even call it that anymore it is Soley business , for many where the 1st 3, 4 years are a audition to hopefully reap a huge payday for final year of service at a school with deep pockets

I’m an ISU wrestling fan.

Just have to call out the hypocrisy. ISU plays the same game Iowa does, just Iowa does it better. I dont like them, but respect them and am honestly jealous of their success. They’re doing everything possible to put the best team they can on the mat.

It’s sour grapes to say things like Iowa is “selling their souls”. Iowa is trying to win within the current rules. I believe Dresser is too. Just sucks Iowa is doing better.
From what I heard Iowa and Iowa state play two different games. Iowa plays a game where Bob Nicholls buys them a team because he can and Bob isn’t a coach so he can meet with any of these athletes who are not in the portal. Iowa state will not be like that. Everyone would love to have a rich guy who has Bob Nicholls money. Also what Iowa does is very slimy and I’m glad we aren’t like Iowa.

FD wrestler coming back from surgery.

Fort Dodge two-time state champion and top-ranked 215-pounder (IAwrestle) Dreshaun Ross is scheduled to return on Jan. 16 at Ames.

“Dreshaun told me he was going to make two trips to Ames that day,” Thompson said. “One during the day to get cleared and back that night for the dual.

“He is chomping at the bit to get back on the mat.”

It'll be great to see him finally back on the mat wrestling.

I'm not sure what this means, but it has to mean something right?

There was some speculation and rumors that Richie Figs was shopping around. Iowa already bought two of his teammates. That was Arizona States response.

It's interesting because Figs tweeted "sellouts" after Teemer/Parco left. He recently posted a pic of himself posing in an ASU singlet, someone commented "Sellout" and his response was "I love ASU who said I'm leaving". But I do think it was out there that he was testing the waters.

Not sure if he was shopping around as much as Iowa was being Iowa and doing their normal things reaching out to athletes not in the portal

I will believe it to an extent knowing if there are any Iowa rumors out there they were probably offered a huge amount of money.

The NCAA is considering allowing five years of eligibility for players in all sports moving forward, an NCAA official told College Hoops Today on Friday.

There is no timetable on when a decision will be made, but the topic will continue to be discussed in the early part of 2025.

All players currently have four years of eligibility.

This would be a landscape changing move for college sports, which has seen many radical changes in the past few years such as NIL and the Transfer Portal.

The 2024-25 season is currently the last year for “COVID seniors”, who gained an additional season of eligibility following the COVID-19 pandemic.

Actually, 2025-2026 is the last COVID year. 2020-21 Freshman who RS after that year would be RSJR this year.
