Venture over to the free iowa msg boards. Complete meltdown. Half seem to want TnT gone. They all want M* and Teleford gone. A high belief they can pick any PSU alum they want to replace. Hell, they even threw Kyle Snyder in the hat. Another fraction that thinks that absolutely no one can replace TnT.

The delusion is high and I'm here for it.

Have yet to see anyone outside of O'Toole beat Carr by coming forward.
Maybe deakin, that was so long ago I dont remember. Messenbrink looks tough, but he's gotta take out Hamiti yet and I think carr or o Toole handle him on the feet and if it comes down to it, on the mat as well.

If I’m a Hawkeye fan I’d want tnt gone too. They have too many resources and recruiting pull to be that mediocre. Do any of their guys become technically better in that room? They get great recruits and beat the hell out of them for 6 years and expect them to out-tough their opponents. They should be shelling out everything to get a PSU connection to run their program.

The two wins for Iowa were against true freshman who were going to redshirt.
Howard would have been the starter at 125 or Steen. Both I believe got injured and will probably have 3 years left. Van Ness would have been at 149. Out for the year and he will have 3 years left. Kasak will be at 141 after Bartlett leaves. So he was wrestling up a weight at 149. Facudo will be back and have 3 years left. Probably takes over for Star at 174. Barr will be the 184. They are loaded and the recruits they are bringing in are mostly top 10 in all classes. Everyone wrestling for 2nd.

Neither Howard or Steen would have been an upgrade. Not saying that Davis doesn’t need a redshirt though.

No way Iowa gets rid of TnT though they should. If they ever do they will bring in another Hawk.

If they were smart they'd send Spencer to PSU for a couple years to learn the right way to do things and then bring him back. Don't know that would work either though because the ones that have left the cult don't seem eager to return.

Davis is good. But the point was. He got put in because of injury. And could easily won that match at Iowa.

I hate calling them mediocre, especially after they punked us this year, but I get what you're saying.

Even around our area that's loaded with Hawkeye fans, there are a few that are starting to call for TnT to be gone. Never thought I'd see the day. Also, I give it less than a 15% chance they do anything with the coaches.

They’re still a very successful program. I think they stay successful right now mainly off of the name recognition of the coaches and the mystique around wrestling for Iowa. That allows them to get top recruits/transfers and continue to be a trophy team year in/year out.

I don’t think there is any evidence over the Brands era that they can develop and get the most out of the talent they bring in. Only a very few guys show true progress. Most plateau roughly at the same level they were when they came into the program. Several also seem to regress and/or burnout over their time in Iowa City.

Crazy end to Wisconsin/Minnesota 133 match. In SV, Minny looked close to having a TD, but Wisky immediately rolled through, and put Minny on his back.

Ref gave Minny 3, but let the action continue, and gave Wisky 3, and Wisky ultimately pinned Minny.

After review, initial 3 for Minny was given, wiping out the pin.

Reaction time, and the wishy-washiness of the rule, strikes again.
