Well now it looks like we'll get 8 seasons instead of just 7.

love the idea of a prequel series. Glad they are discussing it. There's a lot of good material there, and it's vague enough that there's plenty of room for them to expand on it.

I mean, if they cast it right, the tales of Dunk & Egg could be fantastic. They'd probably have to age up Egg a little bit, but there's tons of room there for great content.

How about a season dedicated to Robert's rebellion? That could be awesome.

This is the most likely scenario. Once GOT is over, we will know who was born at the tower of joy so they will probably start the season a little bit before the Tourney at Harrenhal (Smiling knight perhaps). This way they can cover the love story of Rhaegar and Lyanna along with the prophecy of the prince that was promised.

That would be great! I love it - HBO is making ridiculous amounts of $ on GOT... they aren't going to want to just leave Westeros when the show wraps up... and we will be reaping all the benefits!

Looks like Max Von Sydow is joining the cast for season 6. Should be interesting.

Is anybody else enjoying Tormund Giantsbane's off season work as the Wyndham Rewards Wizard as much as I am?

They have cast Max Von Sydow and Ian McShane, so that's a plus. I mean, those are big actors.

it sounds like they are going 8 seasons, so hopefully we can stop with the silly plot twists like the mini buddy movies. The whole Bronn and Jaime thing was just brutal.

Two more episodes and I will finally have binged the whole series...in about 2.5 weeks...

I did three seasons in less than 48 hours. Lots of pie and wine involved. Started mid Friday evening before the Sunday premier of season 4. Had free HBO and though "Hey, maybe I'll check out this GoT thingy". Immediately hooked and when full-tilt binge with 31 episodes.

After that waiting a week for a new episode was like SO LONG.

Took me about six episodes to get really hooked. Prior to that it was mostly copious quantities of blood, butts & bewbs in varying proportions. It also got better when I located a genealogy for it; I was having a helluva time keeping characters & families straight.
