I can understand how a college kid could get convinced to help fix games. But my goodness, Terry Rozier has $133 million in career earnings. What in the world would possess you to do this?

The fear of getting your kneecaps broke by a bookie?

I don't gamble on sports, but it seems like there would a lot of extremely coincidental, yet circumstantial evidence, without written communication between the parties involved in these types of cases.

without trying to be an internet tough guy, i can say 100 percent that anyone who approached me with a threat of broken kneecaps when i was playing age likely would have walked away with a broken jaw. and if I was a small nonviolent basketball guard, id just say no and start carrying a gun. if i was in the NBA, id probably hire some protection. what i wouldn't do is be coerced into illegal activity.

anyone recall the black sox?

With all these transfers it is going to be easier to fix games. Less loyalty of players and players that are in it just for the money.

Yeah, but if he had built up significant debt, this might only be the third-stupidest (tie) gambling-related fiasco in the NBA, behind Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittedon, and of course Tim Donaghy.

I just don't know how you wouldn't get caught. All kinds of money coming in on an obscure prop bet would seem to get you caught every time.
They do get caught now. It wasn't caught when all gambling was on the black market.

The only safe way to do this would be having a brother place small bets or some crap. I bet on a family member’s game once, and I lost. Haha. I forgot to have a convo with him

I don’t think that will be the reason. I think the bigger issue is gambling is blowing up so you have a lot more kids exposed to it and potentially getting into money problems because they bet too much/get a habit.

Does this include Fran’s trend of getting down 30 and working the opposing teams bench players to claw back to within 15? Cause I’ve made a lot of money on that over the years in live betting.
I think Fran has been secretly betting the over on his own games. That's the only reasonable explanation for a defense as horrific as Iowa's.

Except that threat would be extended to your loved ones. IIRC, that what was occurring with some Russian athletes who were being extorted.

(I have no idea of any of the allegations are true.)

That's funny you say that because CBB live-betting is by far my most profitable segment on DraftKings, specifically keep an eye for Top 25 home teams that are down at halftime. I check scores at 7pm, 8pm, and 9pm for this reason.
