His opponent in that match was a 3-time Oklahoma state champion and the 2009 outstanding wrestler in 5A. Oklahoma apparently goes up to 6A, so 5A is not the biggest school system.

He definately wrestles a lot stronger than he looks. The Oklahoma kid looked like a highschool JV wrestler!

I can see Taylor giving Fanthorpe or Gallick some good competition at 33 or 41. He looks extremely quick with some excellent balance and a ton of moves. Any word on where he ends up? Does Cael expect him to grow some more or is 35 a natural weight for him? Lastly, what were his weights in HS?

That would be the smart thing to do. A year of training and wrestling with an AA and he could settle in on a weight that he is comfortable with also.

He expects to RS. I think he'll be at 149 after lifting weights for 18 months to fill out and strengthen up.

It seems to be cael's personal rule to RS every freshman

I heard this the other day..
Clark may bump to 133, fanny to 141, gallick to 49. long to 125.

Also heard..
Sanderson may go 149 again... cant really see that one happening.
not sure who is going 157 in this case

and a while ago..
clark will RS this year and give long a year. Then clark will step into 133/141 when fanny/mueller are gone.

He totally dominated that guy. He will have to work on some of his technique and moves. Some of his shot weren't set up the greatest and the rest were just moves that you can get away with in high school. But Taylor definitely has good scrambling abilities which is great to have at the next level. What a great job by Cael getting him into the Cyclone wrestling program.

Fanthorpe and Gallick are not moving up. Muller will be the 149 next year. He was 1 match away from being an All-American this year. Clark will benefit from a redshirt year then the year after Long will move up to 133 and Clark will stay at 125. I am picking Gallick to win the 141 title next year. I see the line up looking like this.

125 Long
133 Fanthorpe
141 Gallick
149 Mueller
157 Sanderson
165 Reader
174 Burk
184 Ward
197 Varner
285 Zabriskie

Spangler and Thompson had a great weekend at LV. They will push Burk and Z for time as well.

I thought I remembered reading Thompson was struggling but saw that he did well in LV. Any other details on his progress?
