Every single day, over 20 thousand Cyclone Fans frequent CycloneFanatic.com. Over the years, we have had an additional goal to being the best Iowa State fan site on the Internet.

We want our community to do good things for others.

You might not know this, but Buffalo head coach Nate Oats has done a lot of great things for the Cyclone Nation over the years. He was Will Clyburn's high school coach. Remember Dominique Buckley? His too.

Former Iowa State assistant coach Charlie Henry coached under Oats at Romulus High School in Michigan, as did current Cyclone GA Nate Schmidt.

To this day, Oats is a close personal friend of ISU assistant T.J. Otzelberger.

It's such a sad story. At the age of 41, Oats' wife, Crystal, is fighting lymphoma. She's currently on her second round of chemo (of six) and as is the case for many folks fighting this awful disease, medical bills have piled up.

Oats is the first year coach at Buffalo, who will invade Hilton Coliseum on Monday night (8 p.m. on ESPNU).

I think it would be very cool for the Cyclone Nation to step up, do what they can and help support the Oats family (along with their three daughters Lexi, Jocie and Brielle) that is struggling to keep up with medical bills.

Do what you can. If that's nothing financially, how about tweeting at @nate_oats to show him how supportive the Cyclone Nation can be.

Your prayers are just as valuable as money.

Thank you and please, help spread the word.

Here's the link to donate.

Everyone should get some kind of a chant going during Monday's game for Crystal. That would be pretty cool.

It is almost half way to the goal with generous donations from Coaches Prohm and Otzelberger.

Done.

Knowing from personal experience the financial burden that an illness like this can have on a family, I hope everyone can give at least a few bucks to this cause. Even if it is only 5 or 10 dollars......try and do what you can.

This is what Cyclones are all about. And CW knows my history in this as we have worked together on similar opportunities to help those who need it.
I am in for $100 and will match the next 3 Clones who donate $50 ore more. Step up.

This makes me ask how any regular Joe who doesn't have visibility and a six figure salary cope and beat such circumstances "Meanwhile, even for a coach earning a six-figure salary, the financial issues are starting to pile up. Insurance doesn't cover Crystal's alternative therapy or the full-time nanny the couple's daughters need with Crystal debilitated and Nate on the road. Or the cleaning service required to ensure Crystal isn't exposed to anything that could make her sicker. Many families that have dealt with cancer know all about this financial stress." -Jeff Goodman ESPN
