Will either of them be in the line-up this weekend for the season opener?

I think there could be more wrestle offs at 133. At 141, I think frost should start and be given some matches against proven guys. We know what we have with Redding. Need to see if Frost can beat top 20 guys.
Do we know about Redding? I mean he was a huge 133 last year and used that size effectively at nationals, does he still have the same advantage this year at 141? I hope so, but the Frost boy showed me something last week for sure and until Redding can beat him it should be Frost.

Redding has been a top 20 guy his entire career (2 years). That is the baseline for him.

I’m not saying Redding should start, Frost should. But he also needs to perform against non-teammates. If he is losing matches to all the top-20 guys he faces, Redding should start regardless of whose winning their individual matchup.

Looking forward to seeing what they can do.

The season hasn't started yet and you already have Frost losing matches and you making coaching decisions.

Show me where I have them losing matches, moron.
Well that escalated quickly.

I think there needs to be a middle ground. Wrestle offs are just part of the package and I get that they are great for competition, discipline, and accountability. But sometimes matching of styles just has somebody's number and can exploit a weakness that others can't duplicate.

I agree Redding is tried and tested and experienced against a wider range of styles. But unless frost is exploiting something small he seems promising. The wrestle offs should still mean SOMETHING. I'm sure the coaches see more of the detail behind wrestleoff wins.

I get where crabby is coming from. I think Frost should start as well, but crabby is just saying IF Frost starts consistently losing to guys, not WHEN.

Ultimately, it feels a lot like the unsettled Ramazan/Redding situation from a couple of years back.

Unless, of course, Tiger the Prophet is correct with Redding down at 133 again. Then I'll take that action all season long. I'd love to know how he does against E Frost and Grice in the room.

"Needs to perform"

"If he is losing [then] Redding should start". (anticipating that Frost will lose)
You must not understand what the word “if” means.

And yes, I stand by Frost needs to perform. A win in wrestle offs against a guy you’ve trained with is great. It needs to translate to real matches. This is common sense in wrestling.

I said Frost should start, but the wrestle off is not the be all end all. We have a lot of data on Redding’s ability nationally, and not much on Frosts. He will need to earn his keep in the lineup.
