Family dogs dressed as the ghost busters, slimmer, and stay puffed. Dogs(goldens) were in a pen in the front yard so people could pet them. The cherry on top was there were two teenage kids with the gatekeeper/keymaster dog masks sitting inside at the front door watching all the goings on outside(much like dogs would do).
A kid dressed was Mr. Rogers and he friggin nailed it
Honorable mention - friends of ours made their son a costume of the Five Nights at Freddy's rabbit (I'd heard of the movie, but I had no idea what it was). The costume was terrifyingly disturburbing.
One guy wore a hot dog costume which isn’t that unique but he did add one of those marathon runner foil blankets to make it look like he was from a stand/foil wrapped.
CTA, the Chicago transit system, has a really bad train monitoring system lately and there has been a lot of “ghost trains” meaning the sign will say it’s coming in 3min and it just never comes. Saw a chick dressed up as a ghost train and had a good laugh.
Pretty standard array of princesses, ghost face killers, and various super heroes. Best was probably a group costume of X-Men '97, but the Gambit was the coolest. Props though to the kid who went as Nightcrawler and painted his face blue. Wasn't the greatest of face paint, but higher effort level than just putting on a store bought mask.
