I'm going to bet I'm the only Wolverine with Blue & Gold for the school colors. So basically, we "borrowed" from Michigan.
We also stole Cornell's alma mater (with minor lyric changes)...and changed "On, Wisconsin" to "On, you Wolverines" for our fight song.

I was also a Wolverine with On Wisconsin for a fight song, but our school colors were blue and white.

I haven't lived in Iowa for decades, your post sent me on a brief research mission. Charter Oak-Ute merged w/ Maple Valley/Anthon-Oto (or the districts "share")?

Did they combine when you were there? Knew a few from both.

Yep, when I was in 7th grade at the southern town (still not giving it away...) My dad worked for all three districts (each individual, then the consolidated.) My mom’s family has been in that area since they emigrated in the late 1800s
